Massey 165 noise

Richard Preston I have a massey 165 diesel, recently it has stated to make a nock, nock noise located roughly around the bell housing area. You hear a double knock, wait about 6 to 8 seconds and it recurrs. This happens with the tractor running in neutral with the clutch engaged and not engaged.
Any ideals.
Richard

Big Dean If it does it with both clutch disc disengaged it almost has to be in the engine a broken crankshaft will do that but it is a pretty loud knock if that is it. I have seen quite a few AD4-203 with the crankshaft broke in the rear main journal Hope that is not your problem
