|Scott Bradley||Hi, just walked back to the house left my mf285 in the hay field. was raking hay and went to turn to the right.........a loud pop of something and it will only turn to the left.
has 4100 hrs on it. It is the older style steering (mf 165, 150, 175 type).
anyone got any ideas
|Geoff||Scott I haven't had anything to do with MF 285's but a lot of experience of 165..175's etc..if it has power steering the ram has been known to come adrift inside the cylinder...there is a steering arm up front behind the cowling which has also been known to crack and turn on the splines...it's also possible a steering hose has popped ....Any oil leaks?...please let me know if this has been of any help to you....Best regards....Geoff
|Scott||Well I haven't had a chance to get it to the house...going to take the bucket loader and pick up the front by the loader on the tractor and drag to house after I get alfalfa baled.
I thought of steering arm, No steering hoses are bad it was a pop of metal
thanks for response.
will keep you posted
