|John O'Brien||I just bought a used 283. After it runs for 10-20 minutes it just cuts out. It then won't start for another 15 minutes more or less. Has anyone experienced this problem? What's the solution?
|AJ||Start off with the fuel tank make sure the vent is not blocked causing a vacuum, then that the outlet is not blocked or restricted, check that the supply pipe to the priming pump is tight and not drawing air, take the top from the priming pump and clean the gauze filter and pump body, fit new fuel filter/s,bleed the system doing the filters first, bleed screw on top of the filter/s then the injector pump, open the two small bleed screws on the pump, they ride piggyback on top of two adaptors, when air free fuel comes through close the bottom one first and then the top one, loosen the injector pipes a couple of turns and spin the engine over till fuel spurts out, tighten the pipes and it should start, hope this cures your problem. Go to the link below to where I posted a picture of the pump and filters,it not an MF but it is very similar.
