|Big John||My Massey is stuck in first gear, I cannot move the leaver out of first gear. I am able to move the high low gear shifter no problem and can still drive the tractor in 1st low and high gear. Any help would be appreciated
|Garry's F40||If it's the same as my F40, you unscrew the trans filler cap (next to the shifter), put the hi/low in neutral, press in the clutch, stick a big screwdriver down into the filler hole and pry the big gear back towards the back of the tractor.
If you slide it too far, you might get it stuck in reverse; just pry it forward a little if that happens.
|Shawn||I had a 135 massey that did the same thing as yours using a screwdiver in the filler hole is ok to free the gear but this problem only gets worse, I replaced my shifter forks and slide rails and the problem was sloved, it`s a fairly big job but the parts are reasonable. hope this helps
