||I am considering buying a MF 235 tractor with a front end loader for home use. I have 22 acres and mainly bushog but like the idea of having the front end loader. The seller has told me that it is in good condition, is between a 1978 - 1980 year tractor. It is a 3 cyl diesel with remote hydraulics, tires in good condition. Before I look at it, does anyone have experience with this model tractor and are there things I should be wary of? The price is $4200.
||They only made them in 1975, 1976. It had some steering problems when they first came out but I believe you can get parts for it at most any dealership. I have a 3cyl perkins on mine and it runs great. Good tractor I gave $4500 with out a front end loader. Sounds like a good price to add a frontend loader on mine would cost about $2500. I would go for it if it is indeed in good shape. Thats my 0.02.
||Check the steering REALLY close. Take that sucker for a drive, bush hog with it and drive it on the road. You could be looking at an expensive bill if you have to fix ANY of the steering components. The 235 has the worst steering box of any MF tractor made.
