||i have a massey ferguson 50 gas tractor which has been absolutely reliable for the first year i've owned it. recently it started having an INTERMITTENT problem starting. it's all or NOTHING. i've replaced every component in the ignition system except what i take to be a voltage regulator mounted just above the solenoid. the starter is fine. would a voltage regulator go out intermittently like this? would a faulty voltage regulator cause this all or nothing scenario?
||Its probably the soleniod or starter. Mine was other wise how is your wiring and what happens when you bypass it ie short across the solenoid?
Chech battery leads for heat created by resistance.
