165 gearbox

Mike How do I change the oil seal on the input shaft of a six spead gear box with out totaly dismantling the box. Can the snorkel that the clutch thrust bearing slides on be taken off with out dismantling the box
rod Yes it can, and depending on whether it is multi power or not you will have to disconnect hyd pipes as well as removing the cross shaft that the throwout fork is attached to. If it is muli power you will need to renew 2 oil seals. You can generally purchase these seals cheaply from Bareco. Also check the plain or needle roller bearing just behind the seal you first see.
Be careful of the steel slip rings on assembly if it is m/power.
