MF-135 Perkins overhaul
|Jim Covington||My MF 135 Perkins tractor has severe blowby and low power at PTO speed. I would like to overhaul Perkins engine. How much is involved and typical cost if I do it myself?
|ponymare||If you're going to do a complete job, the tractor should be split, engine taken out. Completely taken apart, have the crank cleaned and checked for out of round mains and throws. Its a dry sleeve engine, so a puller is needed, also have the block hot tanked and the oil passages cleaned out, as well as a complete valve job. The machine shop can give you a good price on the kit.
