1105 fueling issue

Duane I have an 1105 that runs fine then all of a sudden it will just die. Crack open the injectors and hit the starter for a while then it will start. I'm assuming I am getting air somewhere, could it be a hole in the pickup tube in the tank?
ponymare It could be one of a few things, does the pick up tube pull fuel from the bottom of the tank and out the top? If so, then a hole above fuel level would cause that, but until you added fuel, it wouldn't start. The transfer pump may be sucking air at a fitting, again if not fixed, it wouldn't start. It might be a stopped up return line, or plugged tank vent, or the injector pump might be getting weak.
dennis i have a massey 1974 150 diesel it will only frie up and run when the top bleeding screw is out of the c.a.v pump. i have pulled all the return line and cleaned them replaced fuil pump, filter and bleed it help !!!
