MF 492 engine & brakes
|george martin||I'm looking at a 492 that overheated from radiator failure. It is a MFWD and has a stuck rear brake. The engine starts but has a noise. What most likely goes first when the Perkins overheats? How hard is it to repair a wet brake that is stuck? Thanks for any help. GM
|MPM||Most likely on a severly overheated engine the pistons and sleeves are damaged.
The brakes on these tractors are mechanically operated, so most likely the linkage is bound up somewhere.
