||Just bought a Massey 275 tractor and the PTO runs all the time. There is a lever on the left side that has 3 positions and I have put the lever in all 3 positions and none of them shut the pto off. Is there a way to turn the pto off when the tractor is running? Operators manual is not detailed. If anyone knows how this works could they explain? I saw the link to a continuous run pto, but does this mean if I have a jam in a PTO driven impliment I would have to shut the tractor off if I need to stop the pto in a hurry?
||Probably means your 2 stage clutch requires adjustment. Not sure but may be the same as a MF135 of which adjusting is well documented on the web. Check Big Dean Austins site for MF135 info.
||If your tractor has an independent pto, ie: not dual clutch, then your problem may be a worn brake pad, worn pad piston ring or low oil pressure, the cover where your lever is should have a small test point fitting, this is where the pto engagement/brake pressure is checked, the pressure should be around 250 psi when oil is hot,try starting tractor at an idle with your lever in different positions and see if the shaft stays stationary, more than likely the brake pad is worn out, it is possible, with the top cover removed to replace the pad with out splitting the tractor.
||Clutch pedal has two pin placements for a dual clutch If you are in the wrong hole there is no pto release. Pretty easy to tell if its right, the pedal is up pretty high, and you can feel the second clutch release as you press down the clutch.
