231 Rear end leak
|Arrow||My 231 is leaking trans/hyd fluid around the lower link mount pins. Both sides are loose. They turn easily but do not thread in or out. Can anyone shed any light on what is going on inside the the housing and what the seal arrangement is. My neighbour says weld them but I would kind of like to know whats involved in a proper fix.
|GEEBEE||The pins are a taperlock with a nut on the inside, you can access both pins by removing the left side axle housing and ring gear carrier
|Arrow||Exactly as GEEBEE said. 5 hrs. and ready to roll.
|KEN CORKRAN||I HAVE SAME THING HAPPENING. LEFT PIN LEAKING AND LOOSE. DO I HAVE TO CHANGE HOUSING? ALREADY HAD PIN PROFESSIONAL CHANGED ONCE. CAN IT BE WELDED ? HELP?
