MF 175 tach drive
|Alan||I just bought a 1967 175 diesel fixxer upper. The tach is not connected and the cable is just lying along the right side of the engine. I cannot find where it connects. This tractor has been fitted with a 1 wire alternator. Is it possible that this tractor came with a generator and the tach connected to that? If so, does anyone have any idea how I can use the tach?
|GEEBEE||Your tach was originally connected to the generator, you can get a 90 degree adaptor that connects to a gear in the timing cover by removing a small plate on the R hand side and installing the adaptor, this part is listed for the 255/265 that uses the same AD4 236 engine as yours.
