ARPS 728 3 pt backhoe
I bought an ARPS 728 backhoe that goes on the 3 pt. It was manufactured in 1976 and I think that it was also sold directly to massey, ford of JD to fit on their tractor.
question: Can I run this on my 1960 ferguson fe-35 4 cyl diesel ? Or better, what is the GPM or oil pressure needed to run such a backhoe? it seems to be slow but is my tractor ok but too small or is my tractor damaged? How can I find the minima specification required to run this backhoe? any help will be appreciated, I've been looking for a year now...
|Andy Bishop||Just saw your message on the 728. I have one (with the 18" bucket) that I use on a Ford 5600 with 9 gpm hydraulics. I think your FE-35 is 3 gpm. I haven't tried it on my little 2810, it's too small physically and lower gpm. They sold these with a PTO pump and reservoir for the smaller tractors. I think you'll need to get them for good performance. You could get regular hydraulic pump, tank, etc. from Northern Tool or your local dealer and make it up yourself. How did you find out it was made in 1976?
