MF 20c/245 oil leaks from water pump

Miles Oil is leaking from the water pump on my MF 20c. I was told this might be a failed front crank oil seal. No oil is leaking from any wher near the actual seal why does it come out of the water pump. It seems improbable.
curt Hi,doesn't sound right to me either, How much oil is coming from the pump area? If it's a lot of oil Its probaly coming from the valve cover, If not very much and seeping from around the shaft it could be a sealed bearing going bad. I think that the only way a lot of oil coming from water pump would be mixed with water coming out of the engine block, so if no water, oil is coming from some where else,
Miles sorry stupid mistake its comming form the hydrolic pump I hope it is just a worn out seal.
