John Deere LX188 cuts out during hot humid weather

john Andrews Since I have had this unit it inexplicably cuts out during hot humid weather. It will immediately restart but cuts out again as soon as the PTO is ENGAGED OR if you attempt to move it. It has been in to 3 different dealers WITH NO SUCCESS BUT SOME EXTRAORDINARY REPAIR BILLS. Deere technical has been involved last year advising replacement of stator control module, charging system battery, seat safety switch... The unit will plow snow all winter but as soon as the right combination of hot weather and humidity this thing is a real turkey... Anyone heard about or experienced this???
Ron You really expected JD to fix that junk they make? Yikes!

Anyway, take it to an independent small engine/mower shop where they have real mechanics. This could be something as simple as a bad wiring connection.

jason having exact same problem, jd cant fix it, mower will run all day with deck engaged sitten still, start mowing and might run 5 min. just like you shut the key off. the only thing my pee brain can come up with is maybe the clutch is bad. anyone have any thoughts on that?
