JD F525 mower v belt

Karen We have had a recurring problem with the belt slipping off. The tractor has been in for service, but the belt continues to come off. I think this is a new belt. Does anyone have any idea what might be askew? Thanks, Karen
Tim Boisvert Sounds like the belt tensioner and/or a pulley alignment issue. I'm assuming this occurs when you hit a patch of dense heavy grass.
Greg sounds like pulleys or a bushing worn causing the pully to be off at an angle, also if thats all good, try some steel wool and clean up the pullys.

Greg which belt was coming off ???
ron previous experience on this:
1. had service tech move the spindle tab over enough to cause belt to jump off.
2. Make sure they gave you the correct belt, as there are two different ones depending on the year. Use the model # that is on the frame for reference to correct belt.
3. Pulley that connects both belts has a busing on the bottom of it, when it wears/gets slopppy i have had belts come off.
4. Tensioner spring no good and or #2 and #3 as they all get the same workout.
good luck

npellicot I have the same problem and have the correct belt. Replaced old belt with new one and same problem but will stay on couple of minutes. I am talking about the secondary drive belt for the mower deck.
