||I'm looking for information on corection of the tilt steering on a model 4310. When you lift the lever on the tilt steering it does not tilt. I had it apart and everything is built with plastic except gears.I asked the dealer if john deere had a problem with this and the answer was no. Checked 3 new tractors to see if they had the same problem seems like they were made not to work from the factory. Does anyone have a solution?
||oh you always never hear the correct answer,
On that you needto replace the latch which is the aluminum piece with notched teeth and also the Lever steering release which is the plastic handle . the aluminum teeth can sometimes bend if someone is pulling or pushing on the steering wheel real hard causing the grooved teeth to bend, then it will not release to the upward position.
||COMMON PROBLEM ON COMPACT JOHN DEERE, POORLY MADE TILT, HAD MINE FIXED 2 TIMES AND IS BROKE AGAIN.
||I had problems right out of the box, and got same response when I had it serviced under warranty. "cant find anything wrong" This dealer out of Kalamazoo Mi. is a joke. Take the money and run Thanks for the f---ing!!!
