|Buddy Clayton||I just bought a 332 diesel with 821 hrs. The glow plug light stays on all the time. Can anyone please tell me if this is normal. I paid $800. for this mower. I've never owned a diesel and hope I did'nt make a mistake buying this one. Also can you tell me what the HP rating is for this yanmar engine? Thank you.
|bontai Joe||I believe the engine devlopes 16 HP, but don't confuse that with an average 16 HP gas engine, because the torque values are much higher at lower RPMs. In other words, LOTS of pulling power. I haven't seen your tractor, and the glow plug light shouldn't be on all the time, but I'd buy all the 800 hour 332s I could get my hands on for $800 if they at least ran. The only caution I offer is that these need to have the outside of the radiator kept clean to avoid overheating.
