|Ralph||I am looking for the trailer weight of my newly acquired JD 400 loader/backhoe, I may have to transport it and was asked how heavy it was.
Also I would like to know if anyone knows about the foot lever that is located on the left side of the trans houseing almost on the foot board. How does the lever operate and what does it really do? I was told that it locks the rear wheels together. I have not been able to engage it in case I need it sometime in a slippery condition. I am soaking it presently. If what I am told is right how do you engage and disengage it? thank you for any info.... Ralph
|Jeff Nowlen||Hello, Ralph.
I could use some help on a JD backhoe I just got. Do you happen to know where the reservoir for the hydraulic fluid is? I can't locate where to fill it? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you. Jeff
|mike||My 400 black plastic hyd filler cap is
located behind the seat base. It is hard to find and harder to fill.
gross wt. with front loader and backhoe attachment is aprox. 10,500 lbs. The lever on the left side right at the foot rest is the PTO engagement lever. long one for rear PTO and a shorter one ahead of that for the mid PTO.
