John Deere 855 hydro issue

Michael Gaffney The hydrostatic forward and reverse pedals , when depressed, will only allow the tractor to move at a crawl pace. After several attempts of pressing back & forth on both pedals it will finally kick in. At times it will work just fine from the startup. Is the problem in the linkage or the switch that allow the fluid to either go back or forward. Thoughts & Thanks.
jr I have come across issues with the pedals being worn out, combined with the linkage bore (it is square) being worn out, or loose. should be on the right hand side of the tractor under the seat. see if it rocks back and forth before it moves the square hydrostat control piece then that could be your issue, i had to weld and file the inside bore of the linkage to get it to start working again.
