JD 970 Electrical Problem?
|Debbie Becker||I have a John Deere 970. The tractor was running fine and just shut off. Checked the fuel filters. When you turn the key on there was always a click after 15 or 20 seconds and now it does not do that. I am thinking Preheater? Electrical?
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
|Dale||Debbie; the click noise was most likely your fuel pump solenoid. If your tractor has a cold start sensor on the water jacket above the fuel pump unplug it and look at your fuses. Go to the fuse that is labeled fuel pump and see if it is blown out.
If you don't find the problem write back.
