John Deere 60 Electical Problem

Mark Lamberty I have John Deere 60. I power washed it to clean it up. I started fine after and then went completely dead while on a slight incline. Any ideas as to the problem and a remedy would be appreciated.
tomboy Simple things first, take the dist cap off and dry it out.
jim thompson We have a 53 model 60 ,it runs fine when in a slight pull, but when its just sitting there idling,it seems that the cylinders are fighting each other. We have installed new points, condenser, coil, coil wire, tested the plug wires and distributor cap. When either of the plug wires are taken off,the other cylinder runs fine and even. When we put the wire back on,it starts skipping fire and running like a big Harley that's out of timing. We have started from scratch and set everything by the book. We can't find anything out of proper setting. Any insight into what we can do would ne greatly appreciated. Thank you.
