JD 116h PTO problems
|Jason J. Stevenson||Hello. i have a problem with my JD 116. It runs like a champ, no problem with motor. the problem i have is the pto never shuts off. the blades runs the whole from the start of the engine. if any one has an idea pleaslet me know. thank you.
|Dale G. Basgall||Jason ; is there an electric or a manual pto on those ?
|bontai Joe||Those have a Borg Warner electromagnetic PTO clutch
|Dale G. Basgall||Thanks Bontai : In that case Jason; unplug the two wire connector at the PTO clutch location. Start the unit up and see if the blades still rotate. If they do remove the mower deck belt that attaches the engine pulley to the deck blades.
Try to rotate the engine drive belt pulley, if it does not turn freely without trying to rotate the engine you need to remove the PTO clutch.
If you need further assistance write back on the forum.
