345 John Deer Lawn Tractor

Raymond A. TROCHA Hey folks. I have a 345 John Deer Lawn Tractor (18 hp Kawasaki V twin) with 1220 hours on it. It has never let me down until yesterday. When I was running it, it suddenly died as if it ran out of gas. When I lifted the hood to investigate some smoke from under the hood I found the circuit board on fire. The most damage appeared centered around the forward white wire which is solderer into the crcuit board near the top. I've ordered a new one but will this happen again? Thanks for any info................R.A.T.
bontai Joe You ask if it will happen again. No way of knowing unless we can figure out why it happened in the first place. You may have a short somewhere in the wiring harness that caused this and plugging in a new board may not solve the problem and it might smoke up also. If it were me, I'd be doing a VERY up close inspection of the entire wiring harness with a bright light looking for loose connections, blown fuses, missing insulation, etc. before putting in a new board.
