|Win Gerde||I have a 5400 that is locked in B range only. Gear transmission works fine. Just no A or C range. All shifters and forks are OK.
Any thoughts. Thank you.
|Jim R||I have had to take my gear shift on the right hand side apart a couple times because of the very high frequency of using my tractor for heavy land clearing and loader backhoe work.
It's pretty simple once you get in there. There is a poly or UHMW half moon ball that allows it to move front to back and side to side with a roll pin going through it. In my case it's always been either the ball wore out or the pin either broken or shattered. That's on the right hand side.
The shifter is just like a spike that sticks into a socket that is in the transmission.
I don't recall that I have taken the left side apart so I'm not sure if it is the same confguration or not.
