420 JD clutch won't engage
|Roger||I have a JD 420 lawn tractor pto clutch,it will not engage.Tried new pto switch and ignition switch,no differance.
But if I run a 12 volt jumper wire direct to the clutch it engages fine.Any info?
|johnrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr||been there done that, got the t-shirt, check the safety switch under the seat, Jumper it out to check. Do not operate in this condition unsafe.
|Roger||There seems to be a clicking sound coming from a black box inside, does anyone know what this part does?
|johnrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr||Had the same sound with my problem, something to do with cutting the pto off if a safety switch is open.
