JD 6420 - Shuttle Shifter + Tachometer quit working
|Drew||A friend of mine has a JD 6420 and just recently has been having problems with the tractor. He says that after it gets warmed up, the shuttle shifter will pop out of gear, the 3 lights in the middle of the dash will come on and the tachometer will go to 0. He has had JD come out and take a look, but they couldn't find anything on the computer, so they told him that he would need to bring it in. He wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem before he spends big money by taking it in.
|Mike||It is the engine speed sensor on the timing cover. Easy to change.
|Scott Gilmore||We have a John Deere 6420 that kicks out of gear when you let out on the clutch and the information light will flash. This happen in any range and forward or reverse. Any help would be apppreciated.
