stx38 starter selenoid problem
|Rick Snyder||I have a very similar problem, and have for several years. Brought in for service and they changed the ignition (magneto?) and sold me a new battery. That really did not fix it, but may have made the problem TEMPORARILY better.
I was thinking that it had a bad ground -- not at the battery end unfortunately -- where is the other end of the negative cable attached? I would like to clean that contact.
Or, it could be the solenoid. I am willing to change it out if someone could give some details on how to do this on the STX 38.
It's only 19 years old so I'm not ready to trade it in yet!
