JD 4630 PTO options
|Greg Schliesman||I have a 1975 JD 4630 and just bought a hedgehog mower at an acution. I didn't realize the mower was set up with a 540PTO and I my JD 4630 has 1000. Does anyone know if the 4630 1000 shaft can switch out to a 540, or is it limited to 1,000?
Also, if it is limited to 1,000, is it safe to put a converter on the mower, or is 1,000RPM to much for the hedgehog?
|Leonard||I would ask a Deere dealer to be sure but I think your PTO shaft is reversible and you will have 540 rpm.
