John Deere 4320

Tim Heuiser I have a 1972 4320 that loses hydraulic function when the clutch is engaged. A local mechanic told me that is normal for this tractor but I find that hard to believe. Does any one know of a fix for this problem. It has a new front hydraulic pump and the transmission has just been overhauled and I was told a new rear pump installed. The tractor runs good and everything else functions but it it almost impossible to hook up implements.
bill most deeres at that time had a "transmission charge pump" that lubricated the transmission and supplied oil to the main pump. it only operates with the clutch engaged. when it loses hydraulics, put it in nuetral, let out on the clutch, give it a few seconds and hydraulics will return. it's the nature of the beast. the 30 series ran a hex drixe shaft from the crankshaft thru the transmission shaft to the charge pump. that ended that problem.
