JD 6400 PTO

Marshall Munsell The PTO on my 6400 started turning off by itself, but would come back on and run fine for a while. Now it will not come on at all. I have replaced the switch, rpm sensor and solenoid with no luck. I have power to the solenoid for about 5 seconds, then it shuts itself off. Any ideas would be appreciated. I hate to drag it to the dealer but I need to cut some hay pretty dang quick. Thanks to all.
hugo i think you have a faulty bcu box use a switch and put current directly to solinoid and put the solinoid directly to ground

Marshall Munsell Hugo - Thanks for the advice. I will give it a try. I did pull the solenoid and valve out of the PTO body and hit the switch with the key on but tractor not running. The solenoid clicked but it did not look like the piston in the valve moved much if any. Is the bcu box the same as the pto timer under the console? If so, I plugged a new one in and it did not fix it. I am starting to think I have something bad wrong with this dude. Anyway, thanks again for the response.
