High Gears

Trev I have an older John Deer. Maybe a 1080? Not sure right now. When in High gear the tractor does not move like it should sometimes not even moving like when pulling manure spreader ect., but when put into Low it moves fine. Can this be the hydraulic fluid being low or what? If anyone has any idea let me know.
rich4 Find out your model and report back. If high with a hydrostatic you are pushing it, did it used to work or are you just wanting it to work in high. A manure spreader can be quite heavy and does not warrant high gear. But don't know your model so I can't read your thoughts.
trev its a John Deer 1050. On the loader fork it has an 80 on it. High gears work fine when on level ground but when you go up a slight incline it does not move. Clutch problems maybe?I can't find the owners manual for it so i dont know if there is a clutch adjustment if that is the problem. It has always worked until recently when i used the tractor to haul some heavier bushes that i had pulled out with the tractor and from there on i have had problems with it. Again when in low the tractor performs like it is suppose to it is just when it is in High. And when i spread manure if i dont use High and a gear it is too slow to spread the manure. Any Ideas?
