gas in oil JD 530
|Ed||My Deere 530 started spewing gas/oil out of valve cover breather. Unscrewed dip stick, and
a half gallon of gas/oil flowed out of dip stick
tube! (way above oil level.)
A local tractor repair guy said it may be a leaking carb float valve. However, the gas valve is oil pressure activated, and seems to shut tightly when engine is shut down, (and oil pressure drops.) and gas doesn't drain from carb with the bowl drain opened overnight.
I suspect something wrong with the oil pressure activated fuel valve assembly.
Before tearing it apart, I'm hopeing somebody out there may have had this problem, and have a fix, or maybe an idea for me.
Thanks a lot,
|John Heine||I think the diaphrams in oil pressure shut off are leaking. That is a common problem.Diaphram has hole in it.I just put some in JD 50.Not hard to do.Mark the piecesbefore you take shut off apart or you may have to change the part to get lines to line up.
