JD 3140 hydraulic problem
|henra||We have a 2wd 3140 that has lost the use of its 3pt linkage and power steering.
So far its had all new filters and oil, a new front pump as it was about finished.
When fitting the pump we flushed the lines with air and out of the oil cooler came a ball bearing, it wasn't from the front pump as all parts were accounted for
Im at a loss so any help is greatly recieved...
|247em||I have 1830 that lost hydraulics, it was caused by charge pump located front transmission compartment behind clutch, It provides charge oil for main front hydraulic pump. Maybe yours has one too.
|brewster||The cap on your hydraulic oil reservoir, has a spring loaded ball bearing, poorly held in place under it. This is the small tank up front near the cooler and radiator. I'm guessing you have no loader. Does anything hydraulic work? And when you check for that ball, see if there's any oil in that reservoir.
