STX 38 Starting Trouble
|Marc Lutz||I have an '88 STX38 runs real good, however, it seems like at times the electrical system can not send enough juice to engage the starter to the fly wheel. I say this because I have already tried a starter and battery from other STX38, same problem? There is a resistor on side of engine I'm going to switch out but it's hard to tell if it works because winter doesn't give me enough testing. Just wondering if anyone had a sugestion.
|ross||I have put a relay onto these machines before. Deere has a kit that will work with this model.
|Dave||Check with your local Deere dealer for the starter relay kit that Ross mentioned. More than likely, that will do the trick. - Dave
|wayne||My stx30 problem starting. Starter click click sound, flywheel moved couple times then everything dead. The battery is ok.
Could it be fuse? a solenoid? starter?
