1988 322 cost?
Any one know what A 1988 John Deere 322 gasser with 50 inch mowwing deck would have cost brand new from the dealer? Or even a 318? I just want a ballpark figure, I am wondering was it $2,000 or $10,000?
|bontai Joe||Totally from my memory, I think the 322 sold for around $5500 +/- and the 318 was about $4300. I could be off a thousand either way.
|swampfox112||My Dealer varified your response. This guy has been a salesman and partsman for 40 years and he told me that if he remembers right,322 was $5K and the 318 was $4K give or take a few hundred depending on the customers attitude, LOL. Thanks.
|bontai Joe||Nice to know that my memory still works sometimes. I remember my new Kohler powered 316 cost me $2850 in March of 1979 (it was a '78 left over) and my new 2WD '77 Ford F-150 cost me around $4500 the previous year, so relatively speaking they were expensive machines in their day. If you use the same ratio of 2/3 the cost of a base model 1/2 ton 2WD truck, you are in the $9000-10,000 neighborhood and looking at machines with similar capabilities as the old 300 series.
