3020 fuel gauge

William I have a 3020 Syncro and the fuel gauge dont work. I have to check the fuel with a yard stick. Could that be the sending unit. Is the sending unit easy to replace. Is it very hard to put in a new fuel gauge. Also I would like to know why the temperature gauge dont work. Thank You!!
Bill What year 3020 ?? 12 or 24 volt ??
William It is a 1965 syncro. and is 24 volt
Bill Does your oil light work ?? Do you have a ground cable on each battery, or they're not grounded ?? Sorry I didn't get back sooner. If your batteries don't have the ground cables, on the left battery should be a fuse wire attached to the positive cable, the other end to the trans case. That fuse wire is the ground for the fuel gauge and oil light. 24 volt systems work great, when they work, when they don't, lots of electrical problems. Big John Deere screw up using that system. Most have been converted back to 12 volts. The temp gauge is it's own unit and you'll need to replace it. It's not electrical.
