Engine needed for JD400 Hoe / 2020

Scott Hi,

I'm looking for a running engine for a 1967 JD400 Backhoe Loader. The current engine is siezed and is gasoline but I'd rather get a diesel.

Does anyone know of a 202 Diesel for sale? How 'bout a 180 Gas engine?

How difficult would it be to retrofit a Cummins 4B? Does Deere use a common (SAE) bell housing?

richard save yourself a lot of agrivation, rebuild the gas engine its a bearing siezed to the crankshaft. you would have to replace a lot of things to put a diesel in it.
David Farnsworth When was this posted and where are you? I am in Washington state, 99301. I have a running jd400 gas 1967

John Farrow I have a jd400 with a running diesel engine for sale. Where are you located?
