||I have just completed an overhaul of the engine on my model H. While the case was open, I washed and flushed the inturnals with kerosene. I did not remove the crankshaft or cam shaft, governor, or oil pump. I disconnested only the oil line line to the guage and to the head.
I installed a new NAPA filter filled the case with 4 1/2 quart of 10W30 oil and spun the engine w/o plugs so I could get everything lubricated before start up. But I get NO oil pressure. None, not even a blip on the guage. I have verified that there is no oil at the guage line at the block. I had the hydraulic pup off and when i reinstalled it i had to juggle the govenor shafft to engage the splines. Did I dislodge something and disable the oil pump drive? If I remove the oil pump cover on the bottom of the case, can I observe if the pump gears are turning?
Anyone have any ideas? I want to examine every possibility before I bite the bullet and open it up again. Jim Pittsburgh
