John Deere lawn tractor dies after 15 minutes or so

Al I have a JD 111 model lawn tractor that loses power and dies after using pto for about 15 or 20 minutes. It will not restart until it cools off, I am thinking electrical but I haven't checked anything as of yet. Any suggestions?
ross More than likely it is the coil. Also check your grounds.
John Mine does the same thing, It is a fuel line problem. Check your fuel filter, I'll bet it is close to empty of gas.

I have to get it in for service, but I'm guessing it is sucking air somehow.

charlie i have a john deere 175 hydro that does the same thing, shuts down after 10-15 minutes. only way to keep it running is hold choke open. why????
Vicki I am having the same problem with my JD165 on cutting out after it gets hot unless I cut the PTO. We have replaced the fuel line, empty & clean gas tank which helped in that it ran a lot longer than is has in a long time (was 10-15min, now 40min) but it still started cutting out after awhile. After letting it cool down I can get another 10 min but now only a min or two even with the PTO off. Anyone had any luck figuring it out. I have been told, Ing. Coil, Ing Module, fuel pump. I can ask 5 guys and get 5 different answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Vicki
richard Alexander Try running without the hood. I've spent $$$ trying to find the same problems on my LX279. Last summer, took off the hood to await the next episode, but it never quits. Put the hood on...it quits after a while.

I suspect this problem on many models.
