HELP PLEASE Deere 214 garden tractor cuts out when PTO engages

Nate S The engine cuts out every time I try to engage the PTO for the mower. I haven't checked the spark at the engine, but suspect it may be a safety feature. I can see the blades start to move, make a few revolutions, and then stop with the engine. ANY advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED.

hk You didn't specify a year. If it is newer suspect electrical:wiring, connectins ,battery, cables charging system, safety circuit . If older than 1980's you have a mechanical pto which would lead to suspect safety switch on pto lever
Phil Morgan I had exactly the same problem on a JD 175 hydro. After a bit of head scratching found the problem to be in the connector that fits onto the isolator switch under the seat. It appeared to be a very small coil spring that seemed to be part of the component which had made contact across both terminals, thus earthing the system out. I am not familiar with you model but wish you success from the UK. Good luck, Phil.
