John Deere 755 losing power

Bruce Hiland I've got a 1988 755 with about 600 hours of mostly heavy duty work (i.e. not lawn mowing). It's been well maintained but is not delivering the power it once did. I assume it's ready for an overhaul. Of course all the paint has flaked off (Deere's first experiment failed) but it has been a versatile and solid performer on our "fun farm". Anyone made the "overhaul or replace" decision? Any advice welcome.

ross Before you spend the money on an overhaul, you should do a tune up on the engine. Change your filters, oil, air filters. If its a diesel check your injectors and compression. How many hours are on the engine?
