318 just died - no power or lights

Ron While snowblowing the nearly 2 feet of snow we got today my 318 just quit on me. The headlights flickered a few times and then the machine died.

It's just like someone turned off the key.
The battery is showing 12.8 volts and I can't see any loose wires or blown fuses.

It was running perfectly until then.

Right now it is basically acting like the battery is dead (but it isn't).

This is my only way to clear my 350 foot driveway. I'm really hoping someone on here can help or know's someone who can.

Thanks.

Alan I had trouble like you had. Check the wires going on the back your ignition switch. The wires go into a socket that plugs into it. Sometime it has bad contact, Pull it off and push it back on. If that does not work check your fuses.
Alan

Dave Ron - I would check the ignition switch for corrosion. Also the seat safety switch may be bad. Even though a fuse is not blown, the connections could be dirty. The TDC module could also be at fault, but those are expensive and I'd check the other areas first. - Dave
Ron Brown Check to make sure you did not turn on your mower deck switch. That will kill it.
Ron Brown Also check around the starter. Could be a fuseable link made in the red wire connecting to the starter. Also the small red wire coming off the battery could be loose or burned into. Hope this helps.
