LT155 runs for awhile then stops

Neil Johnson My yr 2000 LT155 with 396 hrs will start when cold, run for approx 1/2 hr then stops. Motor turns over but won't fire.
Have changed fuel filter, plug and checked to find no spark.

Jim My John Deere LT 155 from 1999, is doing the exact same thing. Did you ever fix the problem. Mine has to be cold then it will run for about 10 to 15 minutes then abruptly stop.
Bob Fields What did you ever find out mine is doing the same thing but mine is a lt133, Got any answers?
Garry replace coil/module for the engine type you have.
{it is the thing at the other end that the spark plug wire is connected to under the top engine cover). Also check engine temperature sensor if your lawnmower has one, it can malfunction as well. Just look for illustrations for your model on the internet.
Preventive Maintenance
Make sure the engine is clean under the top motor cover. I have found micenests,grime,etc.. filling inbetween the head fins which will overheat the motor or even start a fire. The motor should be checked or cleaned after being stored for awhile. A motor cleaner works fine with a follow-up hose washing. Always make sure the carbeurator is covered so you won't get nothing down it when spraying it off. "DO NOT START" until the engine is completely dry.
