robert gato i have taken the carburator apart, clean it all, installed a new power jet and adj srew on bottom, has fresh gas, plugs etc.it backfires when you accelate and bogs down when you put it under a load until it dies out, adjusting the idle or load mixture screws make no difference, can you help
PORKY B. Sounds like a shortage of fuel. Check float adjustment, needle and seat, sediment bowl, check fuel delivery to carburetor.
robert gato I have blown out the jets, adjusted float level with new needle and seat, new filter and fresh fuel. Can it be a leaking intake manifold,or carb to manifold gasket. It seems that the adjusting needle on bottom of blowl has no affect, the carburator looks very simple I cant see replacing, all the ports blow out clear. The glass bowl is clean and always full so I assume its getting gas.Thank for any help
Robert gato I took it apart again, reset float level a little higher and put a thicker gasket betwen carb and manifold, cleaned the carboned plugs and started and ran like a dream.thanks for help
