345 leaking oil

Gary Robinson I have a 345 with about 550 hours 20hp Kawasaki water cooled engine. I noticed a spot of oil ocoming from the exhaust where it connects to the exhaust manifold. Anyone had any experience with a repair for this?
Bruce Very common, especially with over 500 hours on it. But really, nothing to worry about. Valve guides are getting worn, and oil is bypassed into the exhaust. Just watch for oil consumption, if it gets severe! I would simply replace the exhaust gaskets( clean all surfaces well), and make sure the bolts are torqued correctly. Then excess oil will burn out in the muffler, rather than dripping onto the engine pan.
Gary Robinson I found that the problem was a leaking o-ring gasket on the valve cover leaking onto the exhaust , it wasn't buring the oil.
Gary Green I had the same problem and just replaced the O gasket. The gasket was cracked and was flatten at the bottom. Simply fix if you have the right tools.
