|Joe||I have a leak coming from my rear axle right side of tractor. I took it apart first removing plastic snap ring cap, snapring, wheel, and keyed hub at this point I could see what seems to be a rubber seal in the rear end housing. I was wondering how to repair this problem? There was also some damage to a U shaped clip that rests against the axle seal and the small end of the hub that rests against the clip on the other side.
|Bruce||You'll need to replace the axle seal. If I recall correctly, this can be done externally on this one, without removing anymore than you already have. (Except the old seal, of course!) Drain tranny, first! How did this get damaged? Must have run over something there, eh? Barbed wire, maybe?
