8n valve reseating and adjustment
|Dave 8n||reseated valves on my 8n also replaced head due to being cracked, set exhaust valves at .015 and intake at .011 but know I have a knock that I didn't have before, starts right up runs good but knocks never did before I hand reseated valves, any ideas on why it knocks now ?
|Bob G||I would loosen all the head bolts and see if the head moves when you turn it over. or remove head and look for damage. I had a head that the pistons would hit. I had to grind a lot off of the head to keep the pistons from hitting. The head had been milled.
|Dave 8n||removed head but didn't see any marks,so I will try lossening head and see if it moves, thanks for reply
|Bob G||If it does hit a little grease on pistons will show where it is hitting.
