|mike vann|| Had the carb rebuilt on 1950 8n.. It ran and idled good. Started it up yesterday- it began to run rough and went into a real fast idle. tried adjusting the carb did no good. the exhaust burns your eyes. what to check? you think something could have come loose in carb?
|Bob G||You could remove the air intake tube and check the choke plate for missing spring or other parts. the springs break and if sucked into the carb the could be blocking the throttle plate from closing all the way.
If it was mine and I could not adjust it, I would remove the carb and take it apart. Not really much to them.
|mikevann|| Ok will pull carb and take a look. Thanks
|mikevann||Took carb off today couldn't see anything wrong. Put back on ran and idled perfect. Go figure! Thanks Mike
|Bob G||You may have dislodged what ever was blocking the throttle plate.
What ever works!!
